K9 Wisdom is an upbeat, professional dog training company in Loveland, Colorado. We offer many services to our clients, and are looking to expand our Enrichment Center staff. We are a forward thinking company who are looking for upbeat dog nerds who are looking for a long term position within a company.If you are interested in working with dogs and would enjoy the opportunity to learn more about their behavior and care, then this might just be the job for you. The following is a list of characteristics that are required of all team members:

• Reliable (you show up to work on time, ready to work and have reliable transportation)

• Honest (we're a team - and honesty in all areas is of utmost importance!)

• Patient (dogs will be dogs ... and dogs will test your patience! Don't have patience, don't apply!)

• Positive Attitude (we're a group of happy go lucky, extroverted-introverts, who love dogs! You don't have to have the happy go lucky part mastered, but an ability to come to work with a positive attitude and a team approach is a must!) 

• Upbeat Personality (this is a helpful, but not required, skill!)

• Self Proclaimed Dog Nerd (absolute must!)

• Interest in dog training and dog behavior (absolute must!)

• A desire to learn more about dog behavior, training, body language, canine husbandry and dog-dog play. (if there's not a deep seeded desire within you to learn more and dog nerd out than we're probably not the place for you!)

 

The following skills are also required of all team members:

• Good communication skills! We're a family @ K9 Wisdom, and we treat each other and our clients with respect!

• Fantastic Customer service skills! Our clients are like family, both the two and four legged ones!

• Basic computer skills! All of our client data base and training plans are online, so a basic knowledge of computer skills and ease in basic programs is a must!

• Time management! This is an absolute must!

• Problem solving skills! You have to think quick, react fast and think outside of the box when you are working with dogs! 

• Attention to details is a must! 

• Ability to lift 60# plus

• Ability to work in a setting with dogs of various sizes and behavior challenges.

• Ability to think on your feet, and the courage to come to your team members if you feel stuck with a training task or job responsibility.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, upbeat environment with other dog nerds.

• Ability to work alone and problem solve.

• An ability to read canine body language and an extensive knowledge of canine emotions and calming signals.

To Qualify:

Successful candidates will have at least 2+ years teaching group classes and private training at a training company, a shelter, rescue or daycare environment. Extensive knowledge on how to communicate with people, how to use people's learning style to teach the person so we can benefit the dog, canine body language, play styles, an understanding of calming signals and a passion for positive reinforcement based training. Candidates with training and behavior certificates and memberships will be given greater consideration, but will offer in depth training for the right candidate. Associates degree desirable, but not required.
